We publish a set of three new prompts on each major phase of the moon: new, first quarter, full, and third quarter. We give each moon a theme, like Fairy Tale, which we use to frame the prompts. The lunar cycle doesn’t coincide with the weeks or months of the solar calendar, so we find ourselves laboring a bit over the vocabluary of describing parts of the year. Despite all that, you can use the guide below to determine when to check back for new prompts.
Each full moon has a name; although the names vary by locale and tradition. If two full moons fall in the same solar month, the second is a Blue Moon.
We launched on the new moon of the Spring equinox in 2023 (March 21), so we began our calendar there. Below you'll find the schedule through 2024's Hunter's Moon (November). You can find the past schedule here.
